The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore welcomes the announcements of Shri Ram, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem that six new trains will be introduced from Coimbatore. During his visit to Coimbatore on 19-12-2009 he was also kind enough to announce the following which will benefit the people of Coimbatore to a great extent.
1. To extend the Amritha Express up to Coimbatore,
2. To take speedy steps for completion of face lift programmes for Coimbatore Railway Junction, and also for
3. Provision of rest room, roofing for the platform and passengers room etc.
4. Parking facility at the Junction for public.
His assurances for construction of railway over bridges in 14 places including Thanneer Pandal Road, Velankurichi Road, Avarampalayam, Najundapuram, Echanari etc, making Coimbatore city without any railway gates in future, are quite appreciative and concrete step.
We take this opportunity to appeal to the railway authorities for early introduction of six new trains namely:
1. Between Coimbatore and Bangalore night express train,
2. Train between Coimbatore and Tirupathi train,
3. Train between Coimbatore and Rameshwaram train,
4. Train between Coimbatore and Chengottai,
5. Two passenger trains between Coimbatore and Erode.
This will ease the road traffic and will be cost effective journey to the people of this region.
