September 18, 2009: Announcement on World Tamil Conference
Our Chamber is extremely glad to note the announcement of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu that the next World Tamil Conference will be held in Coimbatore in January - February 2010.
On behalf of our Chamber, and all its Affiliated Associations and also people of this region we, whole heatedly welcome this announcement.
Though only a few months are left for the World Tamil Conference we appeal to the Government to use this opportunity to strengthen the infrastructure facilities in Coimbatore and sanction funds for improvement of Roads and other facilities on a war footing.
We also appeal to the State Government to prevail upon the Hon’ble Union Minister for Railways to use this occasion to run additional trains between Bangalore and Coimbatore and extend the Jodhpur-Bangalore train via Coimbatore, so that Tamil people living in these States can reach Coimbatore comfortably.
Our Chamber is ready to extend all necessary co-operation for the smooth conduct of World Tamil Conference in Coimbatore.
