The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore welcomes the announcement of Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) giving its approval for a six laning project of 54.83 km stretch on the Chengapalli to start of Coimbatore Bye pass section and four laning of 13 km on the end of Coimbatore Bye Pass to Tamil Nadu / Kerala border section at the estimated cost of Rs.852.74 crores.
This has been a long standing demand of Chamber and other NGOs and Associations under the Vision Kovai Mission 10.
On behalf of this region, our Chamber sincerely thanks the Central Government for this kind gesture. We appeal to the authority of National Highways to commence this four-laning of Chengapalli - Coimbatore Project and complete at the earliest, since this will facilitate easy movement of goods to Kerala and from Kerala without the vehicles entering into Coimbatore, and ease traffic congestion.
