May 22, 2010:   Delegation to Meet Chief Minister


A delegation comprising of the following had met the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.K. Stalin today at Chennai and submitted a Memorandum pleading for reduction of penalty on peak hour consumption from 300% to 25% and also to permit the industry to pay it in 10 installments.

1. Shri Mahendra Ramdas, President, The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore and also on behalf of Tamilnadu Electricity Consumers Association (TECA).

2. Shri J. Thulasidharan, Chairman, Southern India Mills Association, Coimbatore.

3. Shri C.K. Ranganathan, Immediate Past Chairman, CII - Tamil Nadu Council.

4. Shri Eisenhower, Director, Tamilnadu Electricity Consumers Association.

The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister assured to consider our request sympathetically and also on his advice the delegation met the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Shri C.P. Singh, IAS and submitted a Memorandum. Shri C.P. Singh assured the delegation that he will look into the Memorandum and also the formalities and take a decision at the earliest.
