June 11, 2010: Announcement on CMC Hospital Expansion
Our Chamber and Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC) supported by 110 Trade, Industries Associations and NGO's
of Coimbatore had prepared a 10 Point Agenda, titled "Vision Kovai Mission 10" and submitted the same to the Central and State Governments. One of our agenda was creation of
infrastructure facilities in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) which is celebrating its centenary year.
Thanks to the Tamil Nadu Government, our Hon'ble Chief Minister
Dr.Kalaignar M Karunanidhi, in response to our plea, has announced
sanction of an initial amount of Rs.50 crores for expansion and
upgradation of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on the occasion
of "World Classical Tamil Conference".
As part of Hospital expansion project, blocks for specialty wings of
Oncology and Urology, students' hostel, administration, guest house
and staff quarters will be constructed.
Our Chamber, RAAC and other Trade, Industries Associations and
NGO's of Coimbatore whole heartedly thank the Tamil Nadu
Government for this gesture and also request the CMCH
administration to take speedy steps for completion of above
mentioned infrastructure facilities which would be useful to the
people of this region to avail better and timely medical facilities in
CMC Hospital.
