Coimbatore a City of enterprise and excellence is also home for numerous - Non Governmental Organizations - NGOs. NGOs play a significant role to various fields ranging from environment, to City Planning, to Child rights, to fostering art, culture, heritage, to health care and education. These NGOs have different ideas and opinions and raise their voice for society development.
In order to pull out the ideas and energy of these people and also to give more recognition for their contribution our Chamber has created a Forum - namely "NGO Connect - The Power of One". The collective strength with NGOs will make powerful and effective voice which will be heard by all concerned.
Our Chamber has taken an initiative to represent the issues related to the economic development of this region jointly with NGOs efforts. It is with this objective we held the first meeting with all NGOs on 5th and 10th of December 2010.
Nearly 100 Members representing NGOs like Siruthuli, Kural, Karam, Lions Club, Rotary Club, JCIs Clubs, RAAC, OSAI, SACON, and The World Wild Life Association etc, participated. They expressed their fullest cooperation and support and decided to work together with Chamber under one umbrella.
It was decided to create awareness widely among public for taking up the infrastructural projects for the benefit of Coimbatoreans. Our Chamber, overwhelmed of the courage, promises and enthusiasm shown by the NGOs and it has been decided to work towards making our city a "Sezhumaiyana Kovai".
In order to finalise our object, agenda and also prioritization of the projects the first meeting is being organized at 11.00 am Sunday, the 9th January 2011 at Chamber Towers, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
We extend our cordial invitation to all concerned beside NGOs. Please participate and extend your support for all our endeavours taken in the interest of our region.
We are sure, NGO connect - The Power of One along with Chamber could effectively work for creation of a City that all of us can be proud of.
Please join us and lend your support.
