TNERC order on violation of evening peak hour restriction

We are forwarding the copy of the order passed by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) on the levying of penal charges on the violation of evening peak hour restriction. The TNERC has dismissed the petitions filed by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Consumers Association and Tamil Nadu Spinning Mills Association and approved the action of TNEB imposing penal charges for violation of evening peak hour restriction. However, the TNERC has ordered the TNEB to give a detailed month wise break-up of the penal charges and the method of arriving penal charges, etc., to the consumers in this regard.

In this connection, Mr. N L Rajah, Advocate, who appeared on behalf of Tamil Nadu Electricity Consumers Association, represented to the Commission that the consumers must be permitted to pay in ten instalments without prejudice to the right of appeal. The TNERC has advised the Counsel to file a petition so as to allow ten instalments.

Assuring you of our services.
